Happy Hump Day…and What I Ate Wednesday!

I haven’t done one of these since before my blog break so I’m ready to FALL into good habits! Thanks Jenn for hosting : )

What I Ate Wednesday: FALL into Good Habits

BREAKFAST

For breakfast this week, I’ve been on a green protein smoothie kick! It’s literally so good and energizing for the morning.

  • Almond milk, water
  • 5 frozen strawberries
  • 1/2 of a banana
  • 1/4 avocado
  • 2 handfuls spinach
  • Cinnamon
  • 1 serving of Orgain Organic Plant Based Protein powder

After some work on the computer, I got ready to workout.

  • Easy 2 miles with 6 sprints at the end
  • HIIT workout from Tone It Up
  • 5 minute plank challenge  (JOIN ME FOR 14 DAYS OF CORE WORK!)
  • 4 move workout focusing on legs/booty

LUNCH

I wrapped Boar’s Head sliced turkey, sliced cheese, and arugula together with a side of fresh veggies

Then it was time to head out for a meeting

DINNER

Wild rice, peas, and sautéed turkey and peppers…simple and delicious!

A Day of Clean Eats

I’m jumping right into What I Ate Wednesday today, so thanks to Jenn for hosting! And let’s get the ball rollin’!

Peas and Crayons

As a foodie and someone who’s gotta run early, breakfast is the first thing on my mind when I wake up. The night before, I washed and chopped up a lot of celery that needed to be juiced so, I quickly grabbed some greens and a couple of carrots to add to the celery. It was delicious!

About 20 minutes later, I grabbed some boiled eggs (prepped the night before) and a handful of Cascadian Farm cereal. I stayed full for hours, it seemed. Eating good proteins, carbs, and having energizing juice in the morning really keeps me going.

After breakfast, I went running 3.25 miles. Warmed up nice and easy the first 2 miles and then 6 crazy hill repeats, then ran till I got home!

Then I completed 3 rounds of that arm workout!

Yep, super sore this morning…

WOD: 2 miles at 9:30/mile pace, 20 minute free motion cross cable workout (target quads, back and arms), 9 min mile, 30 push-ups. Lacking energy, glad it's over.

Lunch was kind of too early for me, so I ended up not eating any of those chickpeas or the avocado. It just looked unappetizing as soon as I sat down to eat.

So I replaced the chickpeas and avocado with a baked quest bar because…who wouldn’t?

And I tried to take a decent picture of my dinner, but it was rainy outside and the lighting just sucked…so yeah, this is what you get stuck with.

Organic Whole Wheat pasta, meat sauce, lots of fresh basil, and baked parmesan artichokes!

WIAW: Cocoa, Coffee, Almond Bites

Happy Wednesday, friends! How’s your week so far?

Well, I’ve got a recipe for ya down below, so let’s get started on What I Ate Wednesday hosted by the lovely, Jenn @ Peas & Crayons! Don’t forget to check out the WIAW linkup

Peas and Crayons

First, I didn’t take a picture of my breakfast. I was super busy and in a hurry yesterday morning, but it’s totally fine because it was just Cascadian Farm Cereal with fresh blueberries and almond milk. Which…was really good. Moving on to lunch!

By lunch, I was STARVING! A turkey sandwich sounded really good…so that’s what I prepared.

It’s got brown mustard, turkey, pepper jack cheese, lots of spinach, and all on organic bread.

For the sides, I chose red bell pepper, 1/2 an apple, and a few chips because…who doesn’t eat kettle chips with sandwiches!

To quench my thirst, I opted for a La Croix. So good and refreshing!

Dinner was revolved around lots of greens, veggies, and meat!

Chopped spinach, chopped chicken breast, 1/2 piece of crispy bacon, cucumber and tomatoes from out garden, bell pepper, and feta cheese. It was a very delicious salad!

For dessert…I had one of my energy bites! I present, Cocoa-Coffee-Almond Bites!

A fantastic addition to these would be to roll into shredded coconut!
