Hey, I’m 18.

So…I have been a little MIA, unless you follow me on Twitter and Instagram. I think I’ve gotten on my laptop maybe three times this past week… :/

School work was pushing it. (I still took pictures though)

What’s been up?

  • Monday I was on a “fieldtrip” to go take my practice AP Lit. test which was 3 HOURS LONG of writing. Ew. Sad smile
  • We dissected cats on Tuesday…And it did not smell pretty.
  • I was given a 15 PAGE study guide for our humongous Anatomy Lab test next Tuesday AHHHH
  • I finished up a big math test Wednesday, which I studied hard for and made a 96…not too shabby.
  • I’ve been planning what I’m gonna do for my birthday
  • And I’ve been running everyday this week which always takes up about 2 hours of my life.

Foods from the week:

Those waffles were really good.

Head on over to Lori and Michelle’s blog for the recipe

**Birthday Celebration April 5

Got my presents! Macarons and new Lunar Glide 4’s which you’ll see those in a minute!!!

So prom was April 6, on my birthday…so we decided to do something Friday night, April 5. We had plans to go to Brio’s Tuscan Grille but the reservations were full from another school’s prom. I was really sad because I’ve been wanting to go there FOR FOREVERRR. So maybe we should have went out to eat April 4…..

So it took us about 30 more minutes to finally decide somewhere else to eat. We knew we had to go somewhere where there wasn’t prom people.

We chose Outback Steakhouse because I’ve never been. It was actually a really good choice. They had Mahi Mahi and OMG I had to get it.

Started off with some bread…wasn’t really that great though.DSC00678

Then we had an appetizer…the blooming onion. Australian thing apparently.

It was pretty good…but the whole time, I was like “will probably never ever eat this again”.

All I could think of was clogged arteries.

I chose fish and vegetables and rice for my entrée. It was called Heart Of Gold MahiDSC00683

Then we hopped on over to O’Henry’s Coffee…the best coffee place in the world. It’s top notch. Way better than Starbucks any day!

I got the Chai Latte and it was superb Smile

**Actual Birthday April 6

I am crazy and woke up at 5 AM to go run 11 miles with my dad with BTC. Who does that? Me.

Last year I skipped school and woke up early to run 6 miles of trails. Me and running are kinda bff’s.

Got a little fuel in me before we headed out

11.4 miles in 1:43 with a 9:04 average pace. My dad could have finished that with an 8 min pace or faster for sure, but he ran with me! Such a nice guy. I love you, Dad! ❤

Those are my new LUNAR GLIDE 4’s

And we stopped to get a cup of O’Henry’s coffee. They were brewing up some cool flavors. I got something called the Private Estate…it was regular. Just letting you coffee people know.

Post Run Smoothie! With beets!

Then I got ready for something I’ve never been to before…a car race. OMG.

My brother got us free tickets to the Barber Motorsports event and it was a perfect day for it! It was 70ish degrees, hardly any clouds in the sky, and a perfect breeze!

I’ve never been to one of these and I’ve always wanted to go to one. Here’s some pictures:

We walked around a lot and watched these cars go in laps like a million times…which got boring in about 30 minutes…but that’s because I just don’t know much about it all…If I knew more, I’d probably have more fun. But it was awesome…

There were a few wrecks and spins which is interesting to see. I don’t think anyone got hurt though. Which was great!

CAR #10 won…but I really could care less. Lol.

Well, I’m 18 now! Yay!

I’ll be back tomorrow with a Clean Turkey Chili recipe and then Tuesday will be a quick leg workout that I’ve been wanting to share!

XOXO Audrey

Friday Faves!

It’s been a confusing and crazy week for me…but I MADE IT!

Hellooooooo, Friday! How you doin’?

Okay, maybe I shouldn’t be talking to something abstract.

Let’s move one.

Last Night’s Workout

I ran! 6 miles total but only logged 5 miles on my watch.

      • 1 mile warm up
      • 6X800m repeats (with jogs in b/w that added up to 1 mile-ish)
      • 1 mile cool down
      • A couple of fast sprints
      • Stretching

It was a good run, except the times my foot hurt. I’m starting to log more miles, so my feet hurt from all the work that is being put on my foot. Anddddd I definitely need new shoes. I wouldn’t mind the same ones I have now. Nike Lunar Glide 4 is a great light stability and for distance running. Just sayin’.

Just gonna do a quick picture here

Organic grass fed meat, sauteed spinach, a little whole wheat spaghetti and tomato sauce. Perfect. And I might have had another slice of meat. IT WAS SO GOOD Smile

Over night soaked oats with chia seeds and some other stuff (yes, there are some cheerios in there. I needed a crunch and ran out of granola). And some green tea Smile

1) Whole Foods’ 365 Almond Milk (Vanilla, unsweetened)

For some reason, it tastes realllllllly good to me. I like it more than the Almond Breeze brand. Something about the taste, its just better to me.

2) Chia Seeds!!!

I just bought some of these while I was visiting the Dekalb Farmer’s Market over Spring Break. These were so, so cheap. I never get the ones at the stores because its so expensive for so little of an amount! So, this is the first time I’ve tried Chia seeds and I’m definitely a fan!

3) Chickpeas!

These things can pretty much go with ANYTHING! You can even eat them like popcorn. And they’re so good for you! If you haven’t tried Chickpeas (Garbonzo beans), then you totally need to!

4) One serving English Muffins

Lori and Michelle are like super foodie geniuses, I mean check out this english muffin recipe. It is so easy and I personally, just love IT! I still want to experiment with it, but the taste is yummay! (That is their picture, not mine! I can’t get mine to look that perfect!)

5) Streets and Alleys—The game!

Have you ever played this game? EXPLANATION: There is a cop, a burglar and lots of people. The people are standing in rows like in the picture below. Someone will say “streets”, everyone gets in to streets position. Thee burglar must get away from the cop. But when someone yells “alleys”, everyone turns into alleys and the burglar is stuck in that alley. I played it yesterday in theatre, and I got stuck in the alley and screamed realllllly loud because the guy playing the cop was like right beside me and “caught” me. It’s just one of those games that make everything seem terrifying. I don’t know.

6) Raisins

I never (maybe like twice a year) eat raisins…ever. So, when I got some the other day to make that granola, I have discovered my LOVE  for them. They are so good! They remind me of mini fried dates.

7) My dad sending me this picture of a chickadee this morning ❤

8) Putting powdered stevia in popcorn.

It makes it taste like kettle corn…but its not. Tricky, tricky Winking smile

9) Drinking green tea in place of coffee

Green tea in the morning makes me feel tens time better! I hate the idea of having coffee in control. I want to be in control. No headaches, no drowsiness. I feel better.

10) Revlon Brown Colorstay Eyeliner

I usually use black/brown but I’ve been using plain brown and I actually like it way more than the black/brown.

Okay, that’s all my faves for today!

Just got back from a visit with my grandmom and her yorkie, Tanner Smile

XOXO Audrey

Have a healthy and happy weekend!

  • Do you have a dog? What kind is it?
  • What are some of your FAVE things right now?
  • Do you like Chia seeds?

Health Nut Thursday

So, today is the first Health Nut Thursday.

Let’s talk health.

This week, I’ve learned:

  • I eat better when I have 5-6, 100-200 calorie meals…some 300 calories, but you get what I’m saying.
  • I have more energy
  • I don’t cheat hardly at all (maybe a couple extra crackers or an extra piece of fruit)
  • I feel clean (Clean food=clean body)
  • And I’m actually feeling pretty great

Yogurt bowl! Plain non-fat Greek yogurt with a little bit of the leftover quinoa protein granola and half of a banana.

You can also see my recipe for Quinoa Protein Granola right here

For a snack today, I had a whole bunch of washed baby tomatoes

A wrap with hummus, spinach, and lots of turkey and carrots on the side!

Last Night’s Workout

Last night, I ran 5 miles!

(These are definitely instagram pictures, sorry)

The warm up mile was great…then I got to mile 2 and I felt awful!!! Everything decided to hurt; my shoulder, side, leg, shoulder again, etc. I was trying to relax and breath right but it was hard and I had to stop about 3 times during mile 2. Finally it went away and the rest of the run was good…except the couple of long hills that made my leggies BURN, baby BURN!

So I’m about 3 minutes off my usual 5 mile run Sad smile

Due to hills and stopping. Ugh.

Tonight, I’m off to do speed work again…I’m thinking 6X800m repeats but…we shall see! We shall see!

And hoping for a lean, clean and green dinner! Grass fed meat and sautéed spinach sounds pretty good right now.

XOXO Audrey
