***Warning: I made this for my Birthday Cheat Meal. I do not believe in anyway, that this is a clean eating recipe! Smile

Hey guys!

So, my birthday is tomorrow (April 6), but we’ll be pretty busy…so I decided to do my cheat meal today. A Philly Cheese Steak Sandwich! I’ve actually NEVER had one before! Shocker…because this one tasted so good! I don’t know why I’ve never eaten one. But this homemade sandwich was perfect! I’m just like in awe how mouthwatering meat and cheese sandwiches can be. Haha! There’s a foodie for ya!

Anyway, I’ll be 19 tomorrow and it will be my last teen year! Next year I’ll be 20!!! Oh gosh!

I started this blog when I was 17, 4 months before I turned 18. So weird how time flies by so quickly. I’ve definitely learned a lot since then.

If you have a blog…How old were you when you started yours? Has it been an experience? Has it helped you grow in different areas of your life?

Okay, here’s the recipe for the Philly Cheese Steak with step by step directions for your use!

Easy Philly Cheese Steak Sandwiches

(with peppers, onions, mushrooms, and cheese of choice)

Made: 6   Time: 45 minutes   *Not clean eating

Ingredients:

  • 1.5 lbs ribeye steaks (sliced thinly and then chopped roughly)
  • 6 hoagie rolls (Used the Publix hoagie rolls—really good)
  • 2 medium bell peppers
  • 1 large white onion
  • 8oz package of mushrooms (sliced)
  • 1-2 tbsp KerryGold grassfed butter
  • salt & pepper
  • garlic salt
  • 12 slices of provolone or muenster cheese

Directions:

  • Preheat oven to 250 degrees. Layout a pan with 6 pieces of foil large enough to wrap the hoagie with after its been stuffed.
  • Heat a large skillet medium/high with 1 tbsp or so with butter. Slice the mushrooms, onion, and bell pepper thinly and cook in the skillet. Season with salt, pepper, and garlic salt.
  • While the mushrooms, onions, and bell peppers are cooking…thinly slice and chop the meat and start cooking in another large skillet with 1-2 tbsp of olive oil. Season with salt and pepper.
  • Then I moved the cooked meat in to the skillet with the cooked mushrooms, onions, and peppers.
  • I took three portions (or you could just do 2 portions) to add to the empty skillet and heat back up. Lay 2 slices of cheese onto each portion. Let it slightly melt and then add it to the sliced hoagie roll and wrap each one tightly in foil. Repeat, till you have all the portions heated up with the sliced cheese and wrapped in foil.
  • Place all the wrapped hoagies on a pan and place in the preheated oven for 5-10 minutes or even up to 15 minutes (if you aren’t in a hurry) to get the hoagie roll warm and soft and the cheese melted all the way.
  • Take out and bon appetit!

I’m going to go enjoy the rest of this beautiful Saturday! Enjoy the recipe!

Hey, I’m 18.

So…I have been a little MIA, unless you follow me on Twitter and Instagram. I think I’ve gotten on my laptop maybe three times this past week… :/

School work was pushing it. (I still took pictures though)

What’s been up?

  • Monday I was on a “fieldtrip” to go take my practice AP Lit. test which was 3 HOURS LONG of writing. Ew. Sad smile
  • We dissected cats on Tuesday…And it did not smell pretty.
  • I was given a 15 PAGE study guide for our humongous Anatomy Lab test next Tuesday AHHHH
  • I finished up a big math test Wednesday, which I studied hard for and made a 96…not too shabby.
  • I’ve been planning what I’m gonna do for my birthday
  • And I’ve been running everyday this week which always takes up about 2 hours of my life.

Foods from the week:

Those waffles were really good.

Head on over to Lori and Michelle’s blog for the recipe

**Birthday Celebration April 5

Got my presents! Macarons and new Lunar Glide 4’s which you’ll see those in a minute!!!

So prom was April 6, on my birthday…so we decided to do something Friday night, April 5. We had plans to go to Brio’s Tuscan Grille but the reservations were full from another school’s prom. I was really sad because I’ve been wanting to go there FOR FOREVERRR. So maybe we should have went out to eat April 4…..

So it took us about 30 more minutes to finally decide somewhere else to eat. We knew we had to go somewhere where there wasn’t prom people.

We chose Outback Steakhouse because I’ve never been. It was actually a really good choice. They had Mahi Mahi and OMG I had to get it.

Started off with some bread…wasn’t really that great though.DSC00678

Then we had an appetizer…the blooming onion. Australian thing apparently.

It was pretty good…but the whole time, I was like “will probably never ever eat this again”.

All I could think of was clogged arteries.

I chose fish and vegetables and rice for my entrée. It was called Heart Of Gold MahiDSC00683

Then we hopped on over to O’Henry’s Coffee…the best coffee place in the world. It’s top notch. Way better than Starbucks any day!

I got the Chai Latte and it was superb Smile

**Actual Birthday April 6

I am crazy and woke up at 5 AM to go run 11 miles with my dad with BTC. Who does that? Me.

Last year I skipped school and woke up early to run 6 miles of trails. Me and running are kinda bff’s.

Got a little fuel in me before we headed out

11.4 miles in 1:43 with a 9:04 average pace. My dad could have finished that with an 8 min pace or faster for sure, but he ran with me! Such a nice guy. I love you, Dad! ❤

Those are my new LUNAR GLIDE 4’s

And we stopped to get a cup of O’Henry’s coffee. They were brewing up some cool flavors. I got something called the Private Estate…it was regular. Just letting you coffee people know.

Post Run Smoothie! With beets!

Then I got ready for something I’ve never been to before…a car race. OMG.

My brother got us free tickets to the Barber Motorsports event and it was a perfect day for it! It was 70ish degrees, hardly any clouds in the sky, and a perfect breeze!

I’ve never been to one of these and I’ve always wanted to go to one. Here’s some pictures:

We walked around a lot and watched these cars go in laps like a million times…which got boring in about 30 minutes…but that’s because I just don’t know much about it all…If I knew more, I’d probably have more fun. But it was awesome…

There were a few wrecks and spins which is interesting to see. I don’t think anyone got hurt though. Which was great!

CAR #10 won…but I really could care less. Lol.

Well, I’m 18 now! Yay!

I’ll be back tomorrow with a Clean Turkey Chili recipe and then Tuesday will be a quick leg workout that I’ve been wanting to share!

XOXO Audrey
