Thinking Out Loud Thursday #2

Hey everyone! Thursday already? One step closer to Fall. Yes!

Jumping right into Thinking Out Loud Thursday with Amanda at Running With Spoons and it’s gonna get random!

1. I’m officially halfway through nutrition school! I’ll be certified this coming week and I’m pretty excited to start health coaching. If you want to learn more about what I do or where to sign up, you can go to my website, The Body Method and learn more there!

2. When I graduate in February 2015, I’m going to be jumping right into studying to be a Personal Trainer, which is realllllly exciting to me!

3. My dream is to open a health and fitness studio in either Denver, Charlotte, or somewhere close to Manhattan Beach. We’ll see what happens!

4. Um, my first published article is in Fit & Well Magazine! I talked about them a while back when I posted on some of my favorite brands. A couple months ago when I was at the beach, Alison who is the editor or Fit & Well, reached out to me about writing an article for the magazine. I was like…

5. I want my hair to look like this…

6. Why are Clif Bars so freaking good? They make the perfect dessert when warmed up for like 5-8 seconds in the microwave. A trick I learned from Karena from Tone It Up, back in the day.

7. Speaking of Tone It Up, I want to share a quick fact. These girls are my inspiration, motivation, and sometimes I feel like it owe it to them. I would probably not be where I am today without Karena & Katrina. They got me hooked on healthy living, realizing that fitness can be fun, which helped me discover my love for helping people with their health and fitness! Thanks, girls!

8. I started The Alabaster Running Club last week and our first group run is tonight. OMG. I’m so excited and pumped to have the pleasure in hosting this club full of awesome runners. If you are in the Birmingham area, why don’t you come down!

9. Arctic Zero is amazing! Well, I’ve probably mentioned that before. I tried the coffee flavor for the first time and it was DELICIOUS!

A Day of Clean Eats

I’m jumping right into What I Ate Wednesday today, so thanks to Jenn for hosting! And let’s get the ball rollin’!

Peas and Crayons

As a foodie and someone who’s gotta run early, breakfast is the first thing on my mind when I wake up. The night before, I washed and chopped up a lot of celery that needed to be juiced so, I quickly grabbed some greens and a couple of carrots to add to the celery. It was delicious!

About 20 minutes later, I grabbed some boiled eggs (prepped the night before) and a handful of Cascadian Farm cereal. I stayed full for hours, it seemed. Eating good proteins, carbs, and having energizing juice in the morning really keeps me going.

After breakfast, I went running 3.25 miles. Warmed up nice and easy the first 2 miles and then 6 crazy hill repeats, then ran till I got home!

Then I completed 3 rounds of that arm workout!

Yep, super sore this morning…

WOD: 2 miles at 9:30/mile pace, 20 minute free motion cross cable workout (target quads, back and arms), 9 min mile, 30 push-ups. Lacking energy, glad it's over.

Lunch was kind of too early for me, so I ended up not eating any of those chickpeas or the avocado. It just looked unappetizing as soon as I sat down to eat.

So I replaced the chickpeas and avocado with a baked quest bar because…who wouldn’t?

And I tried to take a decent picture of my dinner, but it was rainy outside and the lighting just sucked…so yeah, this is what you get stuck with.

Why have I not done this linkup yet?

1. Cascadian farm cereal, frozen blueberries, and almond milk has went up on my top 10 breakfasts. I’m for real here, so good!

2. I went trail running hiking yesterday. It was not what I expected. As you know, trail running has sort of won me over, and yesterday I thought I would try out a new place called, Moss Rock Preserve. Let’s just say, there was a lot of rock and not really any trails meant for running. So lame.

3. However, I went trail running on Monday at Oak Mountain (which was very nice) and got my picture taken with an owl…

Please excuse my huge, crazy, weird smile. I’m sort of cringing. WHY THE HECK am I putting this up!

5. I ordered business cards yesterday to start putting around Birmingham because yo, I’m a health coach and no one will know if I don’t get out there. Currently looking for health events to go to this Fall. I’ll share what my cards look like as soon as they get here next week! In the meantime, you could like…check out my Health Coaching Website. 6. I’ve come to conclusion that there are not that many job opportunities in Birmingham right now. So, I’m looking at all kinds of other cities that are out of state. Call me crazy, but I’m just a girl with lots of dreams, passions, and goals and I ain’t giving up. Excuse my southern “ain’t”. But sometimes it needs to be used.

7. I haven’t done a workout in like a week. I’ve only been running and I feel like a leg workout is definitely needed today. So, I’m gonna go get on that right after I post this. #GIRLPOWER

8. Yesterday and today is supposed to be really low in humidity and very cool which is making me feel like its Fall already. I’m not ready for Fall yet!!!

9. I am loving long distances again. It seriously only takes a couple of weeks of long runs, and I’m already excited about doing 10 miles. Whaaaaat? Yep.

10. Paypal is super confusing (I’ve never used it before). Feel free to tell me how it works in the comments. The FAQ on Paypal is not helping me out. I need an actual explanation with examples.
